Alocasia chantrieri | Fast EU shipping | Grown with love in the EU | Toxic to pets
Summary: With its dramatic dark green leaves, metallic sheen, and striking ribbed texture, Alocasia chantrieri brings rare tropical elegance to your indoor jungle.
Thrives in bright, indirect light. Avoid direct sunlight to prevent leaf burn. Ideal near east or north-facing windows or in greenhouse cabinets with stable humidity.
Keep soil consistently moist but not soggy. Requires high humidity (above 60%) to maintain vibrant, healthy foliage. Mist regularly or use a humidifier, especially during dry European winters.
Prefers a rich, well-draining aroid mix with peat, perlite, and orchid bark to maintain aeration and moisture balance. Repot every 1–2 years in spring to refresh nutrients and support growth.
Toxic to pets if ingested due to calcium oxalate crystals. Keep out of reach of cats and dogs to avoid irritation or stomach upset.
Moderate-growing Alocasia producing upright sculptural foliage as it matures. Propagate via division of offsets during repotting to expand your collection.
Reduce watering slightly in winter when growth slows. Maintain temperatures above 18°C to avoid dormancy. Fertilise monthly during spring and summer with a diluted balanced fertiliser for strong, healthy growth.
Prone to spider mites and thrips in low humidity. Yellowing leaves often indicate overwatering or poor drainage. Inspect regularly and adjust care as needed.
Alocasia chantrieri is native to Southeast Asia and admired for its bold, metallic leaves with deep ribbing and defined veins. Its dramatic foliage makes it a standout choice for rare plant collectors seeking exotic elegance for their European indoor jungles.

Very interesting white leaves. Came with some yellowish ones probably from travelling. I can understand that plants with rare colours on their leaves may be more complicated to remain as received.
Beautiful colours.. loved it!
