Monstera Adansonii Mint — mint variegated Swiss‑cheese vine
Leaves are oblong-to-ovate with the familiar tear‑drop and oval perforations that give this plant its “Swiss‑cheese” look. What sets this selected cultivar apart is the sectoral, marbled mint‑green to pale‑green panaché across the lamina rather than bright white variegation — the contrast feels softer and more delicate. The surface is glossy and slightly succulent in appearance, and the overall silhouette stays compact and airy rather than becoming a large, dense mass.
In real indoor growth the plant shows clear development differences from the plain green form: new leaves commonly emerge paler and the mint sectors can shift as they mature, so variegation is occasionally less stable in low light. Fenestrations appear at small‑to‑medium leaf sizes, and the vine will either climb if given a moss pole or trail neatly from a hanging pot or shelf. With a support you can encourage larger, more fenestrated leaves; left to trail it forms a layered cascade of perforated foliage.
Ownership notes: this is a selected cultivar that attracts collector interest for its mint hue, but the trade‑off is that paler tissue needs brighter indirect light and can be slower to bulk up than plain green M. adansonii. Expect to monitor light levels and accept some variability in variegation over time. Like other Monsteras it contains calcium oxalate and should be kept away from pets and children.
Best fit and supplied sizes: choose the Baby (P6 H15) as a grow‑on or small shelf/desk option, or the Medium (P12 H25) for a fuller display on a shelf or side table. The smaller size is great for growing on; the medium gives more immediate visual impact.

Plant questions, answered
What exactly is Monstera Adansonii 'Mint' and how does it differ from a regular Monstera adansonii?
expand_more
Monstera Adansonii 'Mint' is a selected cultivar of Monstera adansonii with sectoral, mint‑green/pale‑green variegation rather than the plain green leaves of the standard form. It appeared in specialist nursery trade in the early‑to‑mid‑2020s and is valued by collectors for its softer panaché. Expect different care needs and variable appearance compared with non‑variegated M. adansonii.
Will the mint variegation stay consistent as the plant grows?
expand_more
Variegation expression is variable. New leaves often emerge paler and some growers report fading or shifting toward greener tissue as leaves mature or under lower light. Stability is described with medium confidence, so provide brighter indirect light and higher humidity where possible and be prepared for changing variegation over time.
Is Monstera Adansonii 'Mint' suitable for small apartments and where should I place it?
expand_more
Yes — the cultivar is commonly grown as a compact climber or a trailing houseplant, making it well suited to small European homes. Choose the Baby (P6 H15) for a small shelf, desk or grow‑on option; the Medium (P12 H25) fits a shelf, side table or desk. Avoid strong direct midday sun and favour bright, indirect light.
Should I give this plant a moss pole or let it trail?
expand_more
You can do either: Monstera adansonii 'Mint' will climb if provided a moss pole or be attractive trailing from a hanging pot. Provide a support if you want larger, more fenestrated leaves; let it trail for a compact, decorative display. The choice affects leaf size and display rather than species identity.
Is Monstera Adansonii 'Mint' safe around pets and children?
expand_more
No — Monstera adansonii 'Mint' contains insoluble calcium oxalate crystals (typical of Araceae) and is irritating or toxic if chewed or ingested. Keep the plant out of reach of pets and children and avoid allowing them to chew leaves; this is the same safety consideration as for other Monsteras.

Common concerns
expand_more
Variegation may fade in low light or during slow winter growth; yellowing usually indicates overwatering; pale mint tissue can develop brown edges or sunburn from strong direct sun or low humidity; weakened plants may attract spider mites or thrips.

Happy to receive my baby plants, they look healthy and full of live. The problems I had with transportation were solved in a friendly manner by replacement or refund. Higly recommending.

Big fancy leaves with stars?! I gasped, snorted, and gasped again. It looks like the sky fell into a pot and I am in love.
