Alocasia cyrtosperma johnstonii 'Black Jack' | Fast EU shipping | Grown with love in the EU | Not pet-safe
Summary: With its almost black, deeply veined leaves and fierce upright stance, Black Jack transforms any room into a lush, tropical escape with minimal effort.
Thrives in bright, indirect light. Avoid direct midday sun to prevent leaf scorch. Ideal for east or north-facing windows, or a bright spot with filtered light.
Keep soil evenly moist but not soggy. Loves high humidity (over 60%) – use a humidifier or place near other plants to boost ambient moisture.
Use a chunky, well-draining aroid mix with orchid bark, perlite, and coco coir. Repot every 1–2 years to support rapid rhizome growth.
Toxic if ingested. Keep out of reach of pets and small children.
Grows from rhizomes that can be divided during repotting in spring. Each division should have at least one growth point for successful propagation.
May go semi-dormant in winter with slowed growth. Reduce watering accordingly and keep above 15°C to maintain foliage health.
Watch for spider mites and thrips, especially in dry conditions. Regularly wipe leaves to prevent dust build-up and pest hiding spots.
Native to Southeast Asian rainforests, Alocasia cyrtosperma johnstonii ‘Black Jack’ is prized for its dark velvety foliage and compact yet dramatic form, making it a must-have for European Alocasia collectors.

My experience at plant circle: I ordered 5 plants, alocasia to Slovenia, but Loco was sold out, they informed me about this and gave me the choice of another plant or a refund, my decision is to get another Frydek plant. The shipment of plants arrived carefully packaged without damage. But the alocasia was not in the package, at first I was disappointed, but the next day I was surprised, DPD delivered and made up for my Frydek plant. I received a notification from plant circle that they forgot to send it in the first shipment and sent it back without any additional costs. plant circle is one of the best indoor plant stores, you deserve a rating of 10 not just 5. Thank you.
Diese Alocasia gefällt mir bis jetzt am besten. Sie hatte kaum Versandstress und sieht sehr schön aus.
Alles perfekt
