Alocasia 'Jacklyn', also known as Alocasia sulawesi sp. or Alocasia tandurusa, is a true tropical standout. Its deeply lobed, jagged leaves are unlike anything else—bright green with bold, dark vein patterns and a rough, almost reptilian texture. Medium-sized and full of personality, this rare species from Sulawesi, Indonesia adds wild beauty to any plant collection.
🌿 What Makes th Alocasia 'Jacklyn' Special
- Leaf Shape: Deeply lobed and jagged—like a fern-meets-monster-leaf mashup.
- Color: Vibrant green with dramatic black to dark green venation.
- Size: Medium plant, approx. 30–40 cm tall. Striking on shelves, stands, or grouped displays.
🪴 Care Guide
- Light: Bright, indirect light keeps leaves bold and growth steady. Avoid direct sun.
- Watering: Let the top 2–3 cm of soil dry between waterings. Sensitive to overwatering.
- Humidity: Thrives in 60–80% humidity. Mist often or use a humidifier for best results.
- Soil: Use a chunky, well-aerated mix—add perlite and bark to a peat-based base.

⚠️ Troubleshooting Tips
- Leaf yellowing: Likely from overwatering. Ensure pot has drainage and adjust watering schedule.
- Droopy stems: Could indicate cold shock or underwatering—check temperature and soil moisture.

Super good packaging and the plant looked great! after just a few days after arrival a new leaf appeared, so I am super happy and can´t wait to have the little babies grow!
The Alocasia itself is beautiful and healthy, with a lovely new leaf already developing. However, the packaging method used for shipping was very disappointing. The pots were stacked together in a way that put strong pressure on the stems during transport for several days, which caused permanent bending on some petioles and damage to one leaf.
At first, my concerns were underestimated, but after additional photos and explanations, Plant Circle handled the situation professionally and offered a fair partial refund, which I appreciated.
So overall, the plant is beautiful, but the packaging method for large Alocasias clearly needs improvement.
The leaves were wrinkled from shipping.
The plant arrived with a torn leaf due to shipping.
Dropped 2 small leaves while in transit, but plant looks healthy
