Summary: Known as the Queen Anthurium, this baby form already showcases the beginnings of its iconic long, velvety leaves with striking white veining. A must-have for rare plant collectors looking to grow a true statement piece from the very start.
Place your Anthurium Warocqueanum in bright, indirect light. Avoid direct sun, which can damage its delicate velvet leaves. It thrives in stable indoor environments—perfect for plant cabinets or well-lit spots in German apartments with filtered light.
This tropical beauty prefers consistently lightly moist soil, but never soggy roots. Water when the top layer begins to dry, using soft or filtered water if possible. High humidity (60–80%) is key for healthy growth—especially important in European homes during winter heating season.
Use a chunky, breathable aroid mix with orchid bark, perlite, and a touch of sphagnum moss to retain moisture without suffocating roots. Good airflow around the roots is essential. Repot only when necessary, ideally in spring or early summer.
Not pet-safe. Like all Anthuriums, this plant contains calcium oxalate crystals and should be kept out of reach of pets and children.
Anthurium Warocqueanum is a slow but rewarding grower. With proper care, its leaves can grow impressively long and more velvety over time. Propagation is typically done through division when the plant matures and produces additional growth points.
During the growing season (spring and summer), feed lightly every 4–6 weeks with a diluted fertiliser. Growth may slow significantly in autumn and winter due to lower light levels in Europe. Maintain warmth and humidity to prevent stress—this species is sensitive to cold drafts and sudden environmental changes.
Anthurium warocqueanum is native to the rainforests of Colombia and belongs to the Araceae family. It is famously nicknamed the “Queen Anthurium” due to its regal, elongated foliage and velvety texture. As it matures, it becomes one of the most dramatic foliage plants available, highly prized among collectors worldwide.
