Many wonder what the difference is between Philodendron pastazanum and Philodendron McDowell, though they are closely related. The Philodendron McDowell is actually a hybrid of Philodendron pastazanum and Philodendron gloriosum, bred for its heart-shaped leaves and prominent veins. While both plants have large, heart-shaped foliage, McDowell tends to have a slightly more pillowy texture and more defined veining compared to the smoother leaves of pastazanum.
