Luz

Provide strong, direct light — commonly recommended at least 6 hours of direct sunlight daily. Outdoor full sun during the growing season is ideal; stronger light intensifies pitcher colour.

Riego

Keep the substrate permanently moist. Use rainwater, distilled water, or reverse-osmosis water and consider the tray method (pot standing in a shallow water-filled tray). Avoid tap water high in dissolved minerals.

Sustrato y trasplante

Grow in a low-nutrient carnivorous-plant mix (long-fibre sphagnum or sphagnum peat substitute with perlite or washed silica sand). Do not add standard fertiliser to the compost or put food directly into pitchers.

Humedad y temperatura

Average household humidity is usually adequate provided roots remain wet and there is good airflow. This is a temperate bog plant that requires a cool winter dormancy; during the active season it tolerates typical temperate outdoor conditions (exact temperature tolerance varies by parentage).

Problemas comunes

Common failure modes are mineral buildup from tap water (use rain/distilled/RO), drying-out of the substrate (keep permanently damp), insufficient direct sun (colours and traps weaken), and lack of a cool winter dormancy (indoor-only warm conditions can reduce health). Avoid ingesting plant tissue; if ingestion or unusual reactions occur, contact a medical professional for humans.
