Anthurium Clarinervium M | Fast EU shipping | Grown with love in the EU | Not pet-safe
Summary: With its velvety, heart-shaped leaves adorned with striking white veins, the Anthurium clarinervium brings a touch of tropical sophistication to any European home. This medium-sized gem is perfect for adding a bold, botanical statement to your indoor space.
β¨ Why You'll Love It
- Distinctive velvety foliage with contrasting white veining
- Compact size ideal for German apartments and indoor spaces
- Air-purifying qualities enhance indoor air quality
- Low-maintenance plant suitable for both beginners and collectors
- Thrives in typical European indoor climates
π Light & Placement
Prefers bright, indirect light. Avoid direct sunlight, which can scorch its leaves. A north or east-facing window is ideal.
π§ Water & Humidity
Water when the top 2β3 cm of soil feels dry. Maintain moderate to high humidity levels (60% or above) to mimic its native tropical environment.
πͺ΄ Soil & Potting
Use a well-draining, airy potting mix rich in organic matter. A mix designed for aroids or orchids works well. Ensure the pot has drainage holes to prevent root rot.
πΎ Toxicity & Safety
β οΈ Not pet-safe: Contains calcium oxalate crystals, which are toxic if ingested. Keep out of reach of pets and children.
π± Growth & Propagation
Grows slowly, reaching up to 30β45 cm in height. Propagate through division during repotting in spring or early summer.
π Seasonal & Special Care
Reduce watering in winter when growth slows. Maintain consistent humidity and avoid cold drafts to keep the plant healthy year-round.
π Common Issues
- Yellowing leaves: Often due to overwatering or poor drainage.
- Brown leaf tips: Indicative of low humidity; increase moisture levels.
- Pests: Watch for spider mites and mealybugs; treat promptly if detected.
𧬠Botanical Background
Native to the limestone-rich regions of southern Mexico, Anthurium clarinervium is part of the Araceae family. Its unique foliage has made it a favorite among houseplant enthusiasts seeking an exotic touch.
